Rescue Pups

There are many things to consider when deciding to adopt a dog or bring home a new dog. When we rehome our dogs we can assist you in matching you with a rescue that is best suited to you and your family and living situation.

We also need to ensure that the home where the dog will reside has adequate fencing, enough space for the dog and is safe and secure for the animal.

TIP: Most animal rescues will also follow the above process and will want to check the home is safe and secure for your new dog. To ensure the process runs smoothly, it is best to check your property yourself before you contact rescue organisations so you don't miss out on a potential pup that you might want to adopt.

Your obligations as a dog owner:

You can find lots of information on your local council website about the things you need to know and do for your new dog. Here are a few of the main things you must do:

  • Keep your dog under control at all times

  • Provide proper care and attention to your dog

  • Provide sufficient food, water and shelter to your dog

  • provide adequate exercise to your dog.

For more information, see the Animal Welfare Act 1999

Picking a pup

Get in touch with us when you are ready to adopt and we can let you know which dog's we have available. We can give you some more in-depth information on each animal so you can make an informed decision on which dog will best suit you and your family and arrange a visit to Wandering Angels Waipu to meet the dogs.
